Online etiquette (Netiquette) is required to maintain a meaningful experience in the blog for all students involved. To not maintain Netiquette is to risk breaching acceptable eSafety conduct:
Avoid abbreviations: To communicate clearly.
Include subject line: To give readers an idea of your blog post.
Do not use all caps (capitals): It would be like yelling at someone.
Be careful with joking and sarcasm: Sarcasm frequently relies on body language and facial expressions. It isn't communicated well through online forums.
Don't overuse exclamation marks: It increases your sense of urgency and can be communicated as yelling.
Cyberbullying is prohibited and breaches of eSafety are not welcome, treat other online users with respect. Overall, understand it is easy for someone to misunderstand you and be offended. It is a privilege to use online forms of communication such as the blog. Failure to comply with Netiquette may result in punishment and suspension from the school network.
Report any issues immediately through the Contact Page. This includes if you are experiencing cyberbullying or have witnessed another user breaching online eSafety conduct.
Check with your teacher if you are unsure of what is appropriate or inappropriate.
